Psalm 75:1-10 God Judges

Annette Vincent Daily Bible Study & Questions

God KNOWS the timing and the process of the end. He judges rightly.

Our author sings of how God judges in truth and without partiality. He decides when it is time and what will happen in between. Good will prevail, evil will fail.

I like how God is speaking to His people directly in this psalm. He states that HE has an appointed time when ALL inhabitants will be judged. It is no use ‘tooting your own horn’ or trying to convince God of your character. He sees and He knows each man’s heart.

God also states that He keeps the earth running and in balance until the appointed time for judgment. “When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants, it is I who keep steady its pillars” (verse 3). We will NOT see destruction until GOD’S appointed time. Yes, man is making a mess here on earth but God continues to hold His creation together until HIS work is completed.

We already know from Revelation that when the end approaches MANY things will happen to this world that God is holding together. We are told that there will be disease, famine, drought, water turning to blood, and even the sun, moon and stars will be affected. ALL the men of the earth will feel God’s wrath poured out. But until God is ready this earth will continue on. HE sets the limits, not man.

I am CERTAIN that God will watch over and protect those who come to Him during this time but they will have to ride through the events. I believe the church will be with Jesus during this time and be spared the horrors to come. God even sets this time.

Many claim that man is destroying the planet and they are crying out for ways to stop and even reverse this trend. I have no doubt that God is using man’s hand in this area to prepare what is still to come. There is no way man will be able to prevent what is still to come because it is in GOD’S hands, not man’s. But He also calls for us to be caretakers of what He has given us. We have to find a balance in here somewhere. There is NO WAY we can return our planet to its pristine stage but neither do we need to be afraid of using what He has provided for us. Trust God and serve Him and let Him take care of the rest.

Father God, I leave in YOUR capable hands all that is to come. I don’t know exactly what waits ahead but You do. I know from Your past with Your people that I can trust You with EVERYTHING, including the timing and the sifting out of the results. I hope to see Jesus face to face in my lifetime but if You have a later date planned, I’m ok with that too. I trust YOUR timing.
