Proverbs 28:2-4 Wise Community
A community rises and falls based on its collective members. One full of wise men and women will be a wise community and their future will be healthy.
Our world has fallen SO FAR from the standards God set up it’s no wonder the shape it is in! The bloated government, oppression of the poor on every front, lawlessness, and turning away from what we know to be good. Oh how I wish we would listen to the words God spoke to Solomon right after the celebration of dedicating the Temple concluded. Actually, they ARE hearing it. We are hearing the first part; the unhappy times.
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7: 12-14).
The WHOLE WORLD is dealing with a “pestilence” right now. It’s named COVID-19. This is just one of the curses God promised in response to evil on a large scale. My nation is not the nation it was years ago. Our government, from the top down, has systematically removed God from their midst. The more corrupt the politician, the more support they can garner for their causes. The godly ones who stand firm on God’s principles are limited in their sources because they won’t give in to evil. Those who compromise are in the same category with the evil ones.
Even with ALL that is going on around us, I have NO DOUBT that God could bring things back on the right path, IF He chose to. But I also have to look at the story of Jesus. God had the ability to make His Son HUGELY popular and even to spare Him from pain. THAT wasn’t the plan through and would NOT get the job that had to be done, done. He allowed Jesus to be spat on, lied about, whipped, and nails driven into His hands and feet. He had a purpose for the pain.
The same is true with what is happening around the globe today. I FULLY believe that Jesus’ return is imminent. He is getting ready to bring His children home and let Satan have his reign; FOR A TIME. When He returns in the flesh He WILL set all things right and defeat Satan. Until then, things are going to get a LOT worse before they get better. Hold tight to the Father’s hand my brothers and sisters. HE will see us through ALL that is to come.
Father God, thank You for the godly start my nation began with. No. Not everyone was following You but enough of them were that they made a godly start for this community. It has changed. Many other nations has similar or even reverse histories. THANK YOU for EVERY LIFE added to Your Kingdom! I know that we are each rejoiced over by the angels when we give ourselves to You but I want to rejoice too. I want to rejoice that we can reach out to one another, even in this troubled time and support each other. Thank You that we can lift each other up, offer services and talents, and PRAY for one another as we all await being called home and Jesus’ return. I wait eagerly for that day!
I KNOW You won’t leave ANY behind that have already or will make the best decision of their lives. There will be pretenders who will finally be awakened. I pray for all those who will have to endure even more. I don’t know which side of this my children will be on. I’m PRAYING for the first but I’m pretty certain that, if they miss the first call, they WON’T miss the second! They have been taught too much to let that opportunity slip by. Keep them in Your hands and do whatever it takes to bring them back to You!
